My husband's cousin (one he sees every day at work) is having a baby in July. This is the couple who got married in October. We figured it would probably happen soon if they wanted to have kids. She's going to be 40 when the baby is born. She's also a flight attendant, so it will be interesting to see if she quits her job or takes a leave of absence.

I was a little sad when I found out about all this, but now I'm doing better. My husband actually talked with his cousin about shopping for baby stuff the other day. It's probably good for my hubby to have someone who talk to who is also going to become a first-time parent.

After searching around town for cribs last weekend, and not finding any new stores that sell them, I realized that I've never talked to my friends about buying baby stuff (what they got and where they got it. I think it was a topic I always avoided in my previous anti-baby life. Now I need to start asking my friends those things I never cared to ask. Of course after I decided this the only friends who we saw this weekend were our single and childless friends. Oh well!

Sunday our minister shook my hand and said that he had written good things about us and that it was in the mail. Yay! Today our social worker called and said that she got his reference and finished writing our home study. Yay! Yay! I won't feel completely at finished with this until it arrives in our mail box. Maybe I can say, "We're approved!" by the end of this week. It would be nice.
