Yesterday we thought we might have a baby by Christmas. Now we are back where we started.

Our case worker called this afternoon to say that the birthmom looked at profiles today. She was interested in us because we have a girl. The baby was also a girl. However, she chose another family who lived closer to the area she once lived and who also has kids.

So, it's nice to know that we were considered, but a relief to know that our holiday plans can continue as planned.

The potential birthmoms they are working with at our office won't be looking at profiles until this spring. So unless there is an unexpected call from the hospital, or a request from another office, we can sit back a wait a while.

I had trouble sleeping last night. I was kind of nice to have a new baby to occupy my thoughts. Now that this is over we'll continue on with our everyday life and be ready at any moment to set it all aside to welcome a little one into our lives.
