My Journey
Visit with our Second Daughter's Birthmother Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009 @ 3:53 p.m.
We had a nice two hour visit with C's birthmom, J today. We found out a lot of interesting things, like who C looks like (those crazy cowlicks come from J) and a bit about her ancestry. We found out that J has told her girls about the adoption. J really loves her kids and seems to be a good mom. It was fun sharing stories about our kids.

Both girls were good during the visit. C was held by J pretty much the whole time and was the perfect smiling or napping baby. Big sister M played with toys and once gave C a huge spontaneous hug (which I snapped a photo of). J didn't ask to spend any time alone with C. Maybe holding C the whole time was enough for her. Maybe she didn't feel right saying anything. I'm not sure. No one asked her if she wanted some time alone, and I didn't even think about it either since the visit was going so well. J was a little emotional the first minute, but was fine afterward. J said that the visit went better than she thought it would (she was really nervous), and that she is feeling good about her decision. I think it has been tough for her as we discovered that her family hasn't been that supportive of her adoption plan. When she gave birth she had someone drop her off at the hospital, and she delivered C with no family or friends present less than 30 min. later. We took pictures of our family with J and of J with C. J gave us a letter for C that tells her about herself and her two daughters. We were also happy with the support that our agency has been giving J. She is currently going to school (for hair & nails) so she can get a better job to support her family. I'm not sure if we will see J again. I do hope that she continues to keep in contact with us. then< >now Recent Entries Adoption Complete! Thinking About Another - Thursday, Nov. 05, 2009
