I was hoping to hear something about the baby due this week, but there was no call from our social worker today. We got some other baby-related news.

A friend emailed my husband and me to tell us that she is pregnant. She apologized for not phoning and for notifying us after word got out on her personal web page. I hadn't seen it yet, so I wasn't offended. It was nice of her to think of us and want to tell us personally.

She's currently five weeks pregnant, and said her intentions originally were not to tell people right away. She's concerned about getting miscarriage since she is 37. She already has a nine month old son and was feeling down recently, concerned that she had post-partum depression. I think this pregnancy will solve that problem. She was very happy during her first pregnancy. I may see her this Saturday. It will be interesting to see how this pregnancy is impacting her. So far she tells me that she is very tired and takes two naps a day.

Besides this friend, there is a friend from church and a cousin of my husband who are pregnant and due this summer. The cousin is 42 and suffered at least two miscarriages prior to her current pregnancy and was getting help from a fertility specialist. The cousin had her first child a couple weeks before my daughter was born. She's due in June or July.

I hope we get our baby before the summer. It will be sad to have all those new babies around and not have one of my own. All I can do is keep praying.
