I hadn't heard anything about the whole fingerprinting thing from our social worker, so I called her today. She said she has asked her supervisor, but that person hadn't gotten back to her. She hoped to give me an answer by the end of the week.

I then asked if she had heard anything about the baby in the other office. She didn't have much to share.

She said our profile was shown on the 18th, and that she thought the baby was due on the 20th. As of Thursday (the 24th), the baby hadn't been born yet and the birthmother-to-be hadn't chosen a family. Our social worker said she'd call us as soon as she found out if there had been a decision.

A woman from our office will be looking at profiles later this week. She has said that she doesn't want a family in our county. The expectant couple don't like our court system because of past experiences with their kids in foster care in our county. Since our office doesn't have many waiting families out of our county, they may show families from our county anyway.
